Overview

Seeking top talent to join our growing ITility team. ITility is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide enterprise-level support for all USAFE AFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC) Windows Server operations, exercise core services, and comparable services with Windows, Linux, and virtual environments in accordance with UAWC requirements. This an OCONUS position in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Responsibilities

The SE implements, maintains, and logs organization-specific configurations and security settings across all computer systems. The SE works in partnership with UAWC Communication Squadron network infrastructure, operations, Client Systems Technician (CST), and Information Assurance (IA) teams in remediating system security findings, ensuring systems comply with the latest Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and have been approved for the intended network. The SE supports the UAWC’s physical networks including, but not limited to, Non-Secure Internet Protocol Network (NIPRNET), Secure Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNET), Coalition and Exercise networks, commercial internet, telecommunication systems, Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The SE create and maintain standard operating procedures, maintenance checklists, monitor all performance and functionality of classified and unclassified networks, and provide accurate network drawings.
  • The SE engineers, implements, and maintains the Active Directory (AD) domain, Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and Linux client/server operating systems.
  • The SE conducts preventative maintenance inspections to facilitate reliable functionality and availability of domain services.
  • The SE employs Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and United States Air Force (USAF) guidance, instructions, and tools to maintain and operate a robust Public Key Encryption/Public Key Infrastructure (PKE/PKI) environment that supports two-party authentication for UAWC enclaves.
  • The SE provides system administration support across multiple enclaves.
  • The SE organizes mandatory software updates and security patches for deployment using enterprise level utilities, DoD, and/or UAWC-approved software.
  • The SE perform daily, weekly, and monthly backups of critical servers, system data, and shared folders.
  • The SE installs and updates system configurations based on applicable DoD, DISA (including Security Technical Implementation Guide [STIG]), and USAF security guidelines.
  • The SE implements network upgrades, system software patching, and security compliance in accordance with Maintenance Task Orders, Information Assurance Vulnerability Management, Air Force Instructions, and UAWC policies.
  • The SE coordinates with event planners, network management personnel, and end-users to ensure firewall rules are functioning properly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR 11 years of recent specialized experience in lieu of a degree or certification. 
  • Active Top Secret Clearance Required

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is typically performed in an office setting. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see. 
  • Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
