ITility is seeking an experienced performance driven Clearance and Administrative Support Team Lead supporting a new government client. This position is contingent on contract award and will be onsite at the Client location in Mclean, VA or Bethesda, MD.    This position requires travel up to 15%, both local and occasional CONUS travel required.

Responsibilities

Position Summary – Clearance and Admin Support Team Lead 

Leads a team of security clearance and administrative specialists to provide day-to-day clearance/access processing and administrative security support for assigned programs. The Team Lead ensures work is prioritized, standardized, and auditable; provides coaching and quality control for staff; and serves as the primary coordinator between the senior security manager, program leadership, and customer security offices for routine actions. This role is hands-on and is expected to execute actions while improving process consistency and responsiveness. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate a small team providing clearance/access processing and security administration across one or more programs. 
  • Assign and prioritize daily work (onboarding, visits, access submissions, briefings, debriefs, and periodic status checks) to meet customer timelines. 
  • Perform complex or time-sensitive personnel security actions and serve as escalation point for routine issues before elevating to the FSO. 
  • Establish and maintain standardized trackers, checklists, and SOPs to improve accuracy, repeatability, and audit readiness. 
  • Conduct quality control reviews of submissions and records; correct discrepancies and drive closure of open items. 
  • Support self-inspections/audits by planning artifact collection, validating rosters, and coordinating corrective actions. 
  • Provide metrics and reporting to the FSO and program leadership (e.g., onboarding cycle time, backlog status, training completion). 
  • Train and mentor team members on procedures, customer expectations, and professional communications. 
  • Maintain discretion and protect sensitive information in accordance with need-to-know principles. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be US Citizen 
  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance and Active Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph
  • 5-8 years of experience in personnel security, industrial security operations, or related clearance/access support within DoD and/or IC environments.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and tracking multiple simultaneous security actions with high accuracy.
  • Experience developing or improving SOPs, checklists, trackers, and audit-ready processes.
  • Strong leadership skills, including task prioritization, coaching, and quality assurance for a small team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (advanced Excel/SharePoint preferred) and ability to produce clear status reports.
  • US citizen and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting SCI indoctrination/debrief processes.
  • Prior experience as an AFSO, security coordinator, or lead/senior administrator on cleared programs.
  • Familiarity with DCSA/NISP expectations and customer security interfaces (DoD and/or IC).
  • Experience supporting security training programs and compliance metrics. 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a customer facility and/or SCIF when required. 
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (files, boxes, office equipment) as needed. 
  • Ability to lead by example with strict adherence to security procedures and confidentiality requirements.
