Overview

ITility seeks a talented System Administrator (Senior) to support our contract with the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE). This role will sit onsite at Ramstein, AFB, Germany. The System Administrator provides computer systems maintenance and repair and maintains servers, software systems, and networks.

 

This position is open to pipeline future candidates for a potential vacancy.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provides computer systems maintenance and repair.
  • Maintains servers, software systems, and networks.
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, firmware, and network problems.
  • Configures, maintains, and upgrades network connection devices, network hardware/software equipment, and automation equipment.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Supports the acquisition, planning, integration, implementation, and accreditation of a specified system.
  • Coordinates installation and operation of systems with the host unit, planners, and external system program offices.
  • Provides system administration and maintenance support.
  • Assists Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in providing systems security management, technical analysis, and documentation support. 
  • Administers user accounts, files permissions, and prints queues.
  • Loads and configures software packages, updates, and patches.
  • Performs system backups.
  • Provides technical support to include troubleshooting user operating problems, application problems, system configuration issues and malfunctions, and network operating problems.
  • Performs software maintenance comprised of: running utility software, isolating client, server, or peripheral configuration problems, cleaning file systems of extraneous temporary and log files, maintaining the approved system baseline.
  • Documents support provided including system supported, issues encountered, current status and projected or actual completion date and provides to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) weekly.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, or related discipline plus 15 years recent specialized experience;
    • OR Associates Degree in computer science, information management, or related discipline plus 17 years recent specialized experience, or Major Information Technology (IT) Certification plus 20 years recent specialized experience.
  • Must demonstrate practical experience in the area(s) of expertise required in the Task Order, Performance Work Statement.
  • Most possess IAT Level III; (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP,) and IAM Level III certifications; (CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, or CCISO).
  • Most possess and maintain Linux+ certification.
  • Prior experience administering user accounts, files permissions, and prints queues.
  • Experience in telecommunications and/or network engineering in a large distributed environment with emphasis on military (US/NATO) operations.
  • Knowledge of life-cycle management of Local Area Network (LAN)/ Wide Area Network (WAN), test and evaluation, data performance and collection, quality assurance metrics and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP)
  • Prior experience with UNIX systems, network control center operations, requirement analysis, and computer-aided drawing, preferably Visio. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is typically performed in an office setting.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  • Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
