Overview

ITility seeks a talented LAN Specialist to support our contract with the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE). This role will sit onsite at Ramstein, AFB, Germany. The Contractor shall configure, maintain, and upgrade network connection devices and network hardware and software equipment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain, and upgrade network connection devices and network hardware and software equipment.
  • Coordinate installation and management of telecom equipment with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and commercial agencies.
  • Diagnose and resolve network hardware, software, firmware and protocol problems.
  • Perform system administration duties associated with monitoring and controlling UNIX, Linux, RHEL, CISCO IOS, and Windows operating systems.
  • Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network systems and peripheral interfaces in a multi-platform environment (e.g., UNIX, Linux, RHEL, and Windows).
  • Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network security appliances.
  • Coordinate physical infrastructure safety within the datacenter with Government POC(s).
  • Maintain expertise in fiber and Ethernet termination. Provide SME support to Government and Contractor personnel as required by the Government POC(s)
  • Manage overall installation and maintenance of network devices and coordination with configuration managers.
  • Implement network security procedures. Report Security Incidents.
  • Maintain documentation relevant to network administration to include configuration backups.
  • Administer client user accounts and organizational client device accounts.
  • Providing systems security management, technical analysis, and documentation support to the ISSM and ISSO.
  • Assist in Xacta process as ISSE. Upload and perform tasks required to secure system ATO.
  • Coordinate with relevant personnel to develop, review, and update hardware baselines, technical procedures, diagrams, operating instructions, and technical recommendations on a quarterly basis or upon request of the Government.
  • Prepare a report documenting support provided including systems supported, issues encountered, current status, and projected or actual completion date. Submit report to the COR monthly.
  • Maintain applicable security directives, regulations, manuals,and guidelines to adequately discharge Security Office duties and responsibilities.
  • The LAN specialist provides overall network and end-user support to include, but not limited to:
    Set up, maintain and administer the LAN, desktop, and portable PCs, file and backup server computer systems hardware, peripherals, software, Email, and User accounts
  • Support the implementation and enforcement of security procedures and Operating system patching, and Common Vulnerability and Exposure (CVE) remediation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline plus 3 years recent specialized experience or, Associates Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or related discipline plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or Major IT Certification plus 7 years recent specialized experience, or 11 years recent specialized experience.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and related applications.
  • Experience in computer hardware technical support.
  • Experience as systems administrator of Windows Servers.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Windows NT2000 server and desktop Operating Systems (OS), Windows XP Professional, and MS Office 2000 Professional.
  • A desired, but not required, skill is experience with Mac OSX.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI. 

Certification:

  • Security Plus or equivalent DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Intermediate Proficiency Level cerification.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Experience with coalition and military communications systems

Physical Requirements: 

  • This position may require travel to other contract duty locations.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
