    ITility Renewable Energy and Agriculture is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design for manufacture system components for our proprietary anaerobic digesters.  You will design and  fabricate mechanical components and work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. As part of our team, you will be on the forefront of creating and developing innovative renewable energy designs and ensuring system operational success. Our headquarters in Warrenton, VA and our Research and Development facility in Washington, VA provides you with cutting edge technology and a creative environment for professional growth.


    • Develop CAD project drawings and review drawings from junior team members for accuracy
    • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop solutions for renewable energy clients
    • Supervise and mentor Junior Engineers on staff
    • Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
    • Test and evaluate theoretical designs
    • Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
    • Estimate budget and scope of projects
    • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
    • Designing systems and components that meet needs and requirements
    • Conducting experiments methodically, analyzing data and interpreting results



    • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and drafting procedures
    • Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
    • Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
    • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
    • 4 years minimum work experience in engineering field including the application of basic engineering design, development, analytical theory, experimentation, test, and troubleshooting to a technical project.
    • Excellent written communication skills. This position requires the ability to create clear technical documentation of analyses, methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations. Writing examples may be requested.
    • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
    • Professional Engineer License (PE)
