In support of the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Criminal Investigative Liaison (CIL) Branch, individual will serve as a Security Assistant and provide investigative management assistance to the CIL Branch Chief. CIL serves as the clearinghouse for requests for investigative assistance from outside law enforcement partners that want to engage DS assets domestically and internationally. CIL receives requests for assistance associated with a variety of investigations, including but not limited to: international fugitive apprehensions, visa and passport fraud, homicides, international parental kidnappings, and child sexual exploitation. Once a request for investigative assistance is received, CIL coordinates with DS Special Agents assigned to US diplomatic missions abroad in furtherance of specific criminal investigative leads.

A Top Secret security clearance is required for this position; however, the individual may begin work with an interim Secret security clearance.
Domestic and international travel is anticipated for this position and shall be in support of support of program reviews, investigations, and security briefings for up to one week in length one to two times per year. The DS/CR/CIL-COR must approve all travel prior to the commencement thereof to ensure ample funding is available on the Order.
