    In support of the Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Criminal Investigative Liaison (CIL) Branch, individual will serve as a Data Analyst and provide investigative management assistance to the CIL Branch Chief. CIL serves as the clearinghouse for requests for investigative assistance from outside law enforcement partners that want to engage DS assets domestically and internationally. CIL receives requests for assistance associated with a variety of investigations, including but not limited to: international fugitive apprehensions, visa and passport fraud, homicides, international parental kidnappings, and child sexual exploitation. Once a request for investigative assistance is received, CIL coordinates with DS Special Agents assigned to US diplomatic missions abroad in furtherance of specific criminal investigative leads.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with CIL agents and staff to complete investigative requests made by outside law enforcement agencies
    • Coordinate with local, state, federal, and tribal law enforcement agencies, and private sector, in support of criminal investigations
    • Complete a wide array of database checks and conduct case management
    • Draft investigative reports and track investigations
    • Provide administrative support for status reports, briefing presentations, and special projects
    • Provide support for administrative and program activities
    • Maintain files of sensitive and classified documents
    • Provide data entry, extraction, analysis, and reporting for various databases currently in use, under development, or planned for the many functions of the program office; data

    entry support will include assisting in establishing production databases for operational systems

    • Assist in the research, preparation, coordination, delivery, and follow-up actions on all program operations
    • Maintain flow charts and documents
    • Prepare charts, tables, graphs, and diagrams to assist in tracking and reporting program activities
    • Assist/review the preparation of all reports and tracking documents to include budgets, monthly reports, and personnel tracking, etc
    • Proofread and edit memos, cables, and other documents using Standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation following directorate, bureau, and department style and formatting guidelines
    • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with all levels of personnel

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

    • Minimum of two years professional, specialized experience in a related field, to include counterintelligence, investigations, industrial security, dignitary NIP policy and security standard development
    • Knowledge and familiarity with security policy review and research
    • Knowledge of protection, acquisition, and management of goods and services
    • Ability to coordinate with other Government agencies and private sector personnel
    • Excellent interpersonal skills working with individuals at all levels within the organization
    • Experience drafting and editing US government reports and documents
    • Possess strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast- paced, high-volume work environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with superiors, colleagues, business professionals, and the general public

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

    A Top Secret security clearance is required for this position; however, the individual may begin work with an interim Secret security clearance.

     

    TRAVEL

    Domestic and international travel is anticipated for this position and shall be in support of support of program reviews, investigations, and security briefings for up to one week in length one to two times per year. The DS/CR/CIL-COR must approve all travel prior to the commencement thereof to ensure ample funding is available on the Order.
